Compliance Status with the Requirements
The aforementioned service is mostly compliant with the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG).
Right now, we are pursuing a continuous improvement to increase digital accessibility in order to eliminate identified shortcomings. Whereas Major parts of the websites and the mobile application already meet the applicable requirements for digital accessibility, we're working on full compliance for:
- Keyboard Accessibility: Ensuring all interactive elements are operable via keyboard, eliminating traps, and supporting navigation for components like dropdowns and modals.
- Visible Focus Indicators: Providing clear, high-contrast outlines for all focusable elements to support visual navigation.
- Semantic Structure and Roles: Using semantic HTML elements and appropriate WAI-ARIA roles (e.g.,
role="navigation"
,role="dialog"
) to enhance assistive technology support. - Color Contrast: Guaranteeing a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for text and 3:1 for large text or icons to ensure readability.
- Text Alternatives for Images: Providing meaningful
alt
text for informative images and marking decorative ones withalt=""
. - Form Accessibility: Ensuring inputs have visible or programmatic labels, proper error associations, and clear grouping using
fieldset
andlegend
. - Dynamic Content Updates: Announcing changes using ARIA live regions and managing focus updates for screen reader users.
- Touch Target Size: Ensuring that all interactive elements meet the 44×44 pixel target size minimum.
- ARIA Best Practices: Using ARIA attributes accurately and only when semantic HTML is insufficient.
The criteria are the success criteria of the international accessibility standards, the standards of WCAG 2.2 and the European standard EN 301 549.
